ASG Blaster Devil 0.30g review

ASG Blaster Devil 0.30g BB’s Review

Supplier:

These were supplied Directly from ASG warehouse in Denmark as soon as they received stock of the BB’s from the manufactures. All communications were fantastic as always and I highly recommend there services and products.

Packaging and shipping:

.Packaged well in the shipping box and dispatched using UPS, the ammo took 3 days via land to get to me but was actually ahead of the scheduled delivery date of Monday rather than today which is Friday.

First Impressions:

These bb’s look fantastic, there seems to be no giraffes in the bottle, no seam marks no injection marks. All the rounds are highly polished and free of contaminants.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an Upgraded Maruzen Type 96 firing 450fps with 0.20g BB’s, the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line, until the hop dropped off at about 60/70 meters.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 3” groupings unsupported and then the following 5 shots were 2” groupings bipod supported.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Devil 0.30g bb’s

random batch of 3000 rounds supplied from ASG, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in June 2009)

here are the results:

Range is from 5.92mm to 5.95 which is a variance of 0.03mm

so the bb’s are 5.935 +/- 0.015mm

I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 28.90g

so that’s an average of 0.2890 g per bb.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, these would be a great low priced 0.3g bb that would be better suited to either a DMR rifle or a bolt action sniper of about 400 – 450fps. In my rifle at 450fps I found that they were not as accurate as I was hoping from these. The consistencies of the tolerances were good, the weight of the bb’s were the disappointment being under 0.30g by a bit. I would use these in my DMR’s where mid range shots are needed, but if I was making a long range shot I don’t think I would hit the target with the first shot.

Rating:

Quality 8/10

Accuracy 9/10

Price 9/10

Consistency 8/10
