ASG Blaster Original 0.20g review

ASG Blaster 0.20g BB’s Review

Supplier:

These were supplied Directly from ASG warehouse in Denmark as soon as they received stock of the BB’s from the manufactures. All communications were fantastic as always and I highly recommend there services and products.

Packaging and shipping:

.Packaged well in the shipping box and dispatched using UPS, the ammo took 3 days via land to get to me but was actually ahead of the scheduled delivery date of Monday rather than today which is Friday.

First Impressions:

These bb’s look fantastic, there seems to be no giraffes in the bottle, no seam marks but there are some visible proud injection marks. All the rounds are highly polished and free of contaminants.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an standard internals Star SL8 firing 320fps with 0.20g BB’s,

Magazine used was a mid capacity magazine; the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all the bb’s went straight, until the hop dropped off at about 40-50meters (no adjustment to the hop on first firing) I did notice the bb’s after 40 meters had a spread of about 1 meter. Fine tuning the hop I managed to get the range past 50m with these but no more than 55/60m.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 5” groupings from the standing unsupported position. The following 5 shots achieved 3” for 4 shots and 1 shot within 4” in the kneeling semi supported position, On fully auto 10 shots hit within 10” but most actually were centred within 6” of centre mass of shot. I managed to get some torso sized accurate shots at 40meters where only 1 shot missed but with 50 meters being 1 in 2 shots hitting the target.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of the ASG blaster 0.20g bb’s

random batch of 3000 rounds supplied from ASG, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in June 2009 from there latest batch)

here are the results:

5.90mm
Range is from 5.90mm to 5.96 which is a variance of 0.06mm

so the bb’s are 5.93 +/- 0.03mm
There were no miss-shaped bb’s in the bottle of 3000 rounds,
I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 20.30g

so that’s an average of 0.2030 g per bb.

Conclusion:

These bb’s are still going strong, they are fantastic value for money and give good results. The accuracy on these are on par with all other reasonably cheap bb’s such as the BAW bb’s. These how ever are polished highly and seem to like my rifles better than other ammo. If the injection dimples were removed these would be some the best ammo about. Great for trigger happy people or support weapons, for single shot or designated Marksmen Rifles I would suggest using the 0.25g bb’s as they add that little extra accuracy at range.

Rating:

Quality 8/10

Accuracy 9/10

Price 9/10

Consistency 8/10
