Madbull Precision 0.20g Bio’s review

Madbull precision 0.20g bio-degradable BB’s

Supplier:

The BB’s were supplied directly from Madbull themselves; these were in small 1000 round sample packs.

Packaging and shipping:

Item came well wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box, inside were the 13 sample packs with the extra space padded with packaging. Item was sent express and was delivered by Parcel Force.

First Impressions:

My 1st impression of these were that they looked well constructed, felt different to the normal bb’s. No mould marks could be seen, also these felt slightly slimy (only touch). No giraffes could be seen and no contaminants could be felt on these.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an standard internals Star SL8 firing 320fps with 0.20g BB’s,

Magazine used was a sniper magazine; the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line, until the hop dropped off at about 40/50meters.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 1 out of 5 shots hit from the standing unsupported position which resulted in groupings unable to be checked. The following 5 shots were the same, 1 out of 5 hit in the semi supported kneeling position resulting in no grouping data could be gathered. On full auto a grouping of 20” was achieved with only 3 out of 10 hitting the target. These became inaccurate past 20m

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Madbull 0.20g Bio-degradable bb’s

random batch of 1000 rounds supplied from Madbull, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in April 2009)

here are the results:

Range is from 5.89mm to 5.94 which is a variance of 0.05mm

so the bb’s are 5.915 +/- 0.025mm.

I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 20.60g

so that’s an average of 0.2060 g per bb.

Conclusion:

Not very accurate or very consistent and not very good. The only plus side to these are that they are bio-degradable. I would not spend my money on these unless there accuracy improved dramatically. (I even tested it against some excel 0.20g normal bb’s to check in case my rifle was faulty which it was not)

Rating:

Quality 4/10

Accuracy 4/10

Price 5/10

Consistency 6/10
