Madbull Precision 0.28g review

Madbull precision 0.28g BB’s

Supplier:

The BB’s were supplied directly from Madbull themselves; these were in small 1000 round sample packs.

Packaging and shipping:

Item came well wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box, inside were the 13 sample packs with the extra space padded with packaging. Item was sent express and was delivered by Parcel Force.

First Impressions:

My 1st impression of the bb’s were that they looked well made, opened the packet and removed a bb’s it was nicely polished, no contaminants on the round, No visible seam lines, and appears to be no odd shapes in the packet..

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an Upgraded Maruzen Type 96 firing 450fps with 0.20g BB’s, the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line for about 50 – 60 meters.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 3” and then the following 5 shots were the same as before, producing a 3” grouping supported with the bipod.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Madbull 0.28g precision bb’s

random batch of 1000 rounds supplied from Madbull, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in April 2009)

here are the results:

Range is from 5.90mm to 5.96 which is a variance of 0.06mm

so the bb’s are 5.93 +/- 0.03mm

and only one 5.96mm came up so that could been a problem with the callipers.

There were no miss-shaped bb’s in the pack of 1000 rounds; they are all polished with no seam lines.
I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 27.50g

so that’s an average of 0.2750 g per bb.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, these are a great compromise between 0.25 and 0.30g bb’s, these will work well in rifles under 450 fps but over 350fps.  The are not as accurate as I was hoping from these but better than the lower weight bb’s. I did find that just firing some at a post in the garden, that the were going all over the place (like my hop was unwinding but then one in 5 would fly dead straight and accurate).

Rating:

Quality 8/10

Accuracy 7/10

Price 8/10

Consistency 7/10
