Madbull Precision 0.30g review

Madbull precision 0.30g BB’s

Supplier:

The BB’s were supplied directly from Madbull themselves; these were in small 1000 round sample packs.

Packaging and shipping:

Item came well wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box, inside were the 13 sample packs with the extra space padded with packaging. Item was sent express and was delivered by Parcel Force.

First Impressions:

My 1st impression of the bb’s were that they looked well made, opened the packet and removed a bb’s it was nicely polished, no contaminants on the round,  few them had visible seam lines which were indented, Other wise appears to be no odd shapes in the packet.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an Upgraded Maruzen Type 96 firing 450fps with 0.20g BB’s, the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line, until the hop dropped off at about 55 – 70 meters.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 4” groupings unsupported and then the following 5 shots were 3” groupings bipod supported.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Madbull 0.30g precision bb’s

random batch of 1000 rounds supplied from Madbull, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in April 2009)

here are the results:

Range is from 5.89mm to 5.95 which is a variance of 0.06mm

so the bb’s are 5.92 +/- 0.03mm

There were no miss-shaped bb’s in the pack of 1000 rounds, they are all polished but 10% have seam lines which were about very minute in depth but there were no proud seem lines

I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 28.80g

so that’s an average of 0.2880 g per bb.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, these would be a great low priced 0.3g bb that would be better suited to a DMR rifle rather than a bolt action sniper. In my rifle at 450fps I found that they were not as accurate as I was hoping from these. Also in the consistencies, the weight of the bb’s were the biggest disappointment. I would use these in my DMR’s where mid range shots are needed, but if I was making a long range shot I don’t think I would hit the target with the first shot.

Rating:

Quality 6/10

Accuracy 7/10

Price 8/10

Consistency 8/10
