Madbull Precision 0.36g review

Madbull precision 0.36g BB’s

Supplier:

The BB’s were supplied directly from Madbull themselves; these were in small 1000 round sample packs.

Packaging and shipping:

Item came well wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box, inside were the 13 sample packs with the extra space padded with packaging. Item was sent express and was delivered by Parcel Force.

First Impressions:

My 1st impression of the bb’s were that they looked well made, opened the packet and removed a bb’s it was nicely polished, the colour was green which does make it fairly hard to see against the green bushes and tree’s. No contaminants could be felt on the round, No contaminants could be felt on the round, No seam lines were proud either. Rubbing the BB against a piece of paper left a green waxy line and an impression on the BB. This coating wears off in your hop chamber leaving a residue which starts to affect the accuracy.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an Upgraded Tokyo Marui CP2 VSR firing between 525fps with 0.20g BB’s, the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line, until the hop dropped off at about 80 meters.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 6” centre mass and then the following 5 shots were 4” supported with bipod. There was 2 fliers out of 10 shots.

At 40m supported shooting, I found the consistencies got a slight bit better with the groupings, but was getting some nasty fliers. 3 shots hit within 2”, 2 shots hit within 3”, 3 shots hit within 10” and 2 shots were flyers.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Madbull 0.20g precision bb’s

random batch of 1000 rounds supplied from Madbull, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in April 2009)

Range is from 5.88mm to 5.95 which is a variance of 0.07mm

so the bb’s are 5.915 +/- 0.035mm

and only one 5.97mm came up so that could been a problem with the callipers.

There were no miss-shaped bb’s in the pack of 1000 rounds, they are all polished but 30% have seam lines which were about 0.5mm deep but there were no proud seem lines

I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 35.90g

so that’s an average of 0.3590 g per bb.

Conclusion:

I found that the accuracy with this ammo was good but not excellent, the 3 shots that hit within 2” at 40m was the highlight of the test, but out of another 20 shots I fired, this was the best grouping I could achieve, most shots were within 10” and scattered, I managed to just zero the scope for a torso sized body. If I wanted precision shooting I would have to scrutinize every shot and find the optimum weight and size bb and throw the rest away. I also advise unless you’re going to clean your hop every time you finish firing these, to avoid them as they leave a residue on your hop and barrel.

If these were cheaper they would be good for entry level ammo. I still advise Vanaras BB’s for there consistencies.

Rating:

Quality 7/10

Accuracy 6/10

Price 7/10

Consistency 4/10
