Madbull Precision 0.20g Match review

Madbull precision 0.20g match BB’s

Supplier:

The BB’s were supplied directly from Madbull themselves; these were in small 1000 round sample packs.

Packaging and shipping:

Item came well wrapped in a sturdy cardboard box, inside were the 13 sample packs with the extra space padded with packaging. Item was sent express and was delivered by Parcel Force.

First Impressions:

My 1st impression of the bb’s were that they looked well made, opened the packet and removed a bb’s it was nicely formed, no contaminants on the round, Unfortunately though, the one I picked out had a visible seam line across the middle and had the injection hole mark still visible and feel-able, this didn’t seem to be that bad as it looked (just a slight rough patch). A few more rounds had the same injection mark on them. These felt slightly heavier than the other 0.20g bb’s I tested.

Rifle test:

Test rifle was an standard internals Star SL8 firing 320fps with 0.20g BB’s,

Magazine used was a sniper magazine; the sample bb’s were loaded into the magazine with a speed loader. The first magazine all bb’s went straight as a laser line, until the hop dropped off at about 40-50meters. Fine tuning the hop I managed to get the range past 50m with these.

Next I tested there consistency on a target at 25meters. The same magazine was used. The groupings achieved for 5 initial shots were 7” for 3 shots and 2 shots within 7” from the standing unsupported position. The following 5 shots achieved 5” for 4 shots and 1 shot within 7” in the kneeling semi supported position, On fully auto 10 shots hit within 10” but most actually were centred within 5” of centre mass of shot. I managed to get some torso sized accurate shots at 40meters with 50 meters being 1 in 2 shots hitting the target.

Consistency testing:

I’ve tested a random sample of  the Madbull 0.20g Match bb’s

random batch of 1000 rounds supplied from Madbull, random 100 bb’s from packet (bought in April 2009)

here are the results:

5.92mm
Range is from 5.91mm to 5.94 which is a variance of 0.04mm

so the bb’s are 5.92 +/- 0.02mm
There were no miss-shaped bb’s in the pack of 1000 rounds,
I then did a weight test of another random batch with the results as follows
I used a grain scales but they kept fluctuating on grain due to not having a flat surface

so I put 100 bb’s on that were dry and not humid from being handled.

I got 20.60g

so that’s an average of 0.2060 g per bb.

Conclusion:

Best 0.20g bb’s Madbull produce in regards to consistencies, accuracy, quality and precision. Slightly over 0.200g this makes sure they hold the power slightly better against the wind. These will hit a man size target at 40 -50meters with 50% shots, 100% of shots at 30 – 40meters. For the price of these match bb’s there a better choice than the 0.20g precision bb’s. Unfortunately as with all the bb’s I have tested, these still fall outside the promised 5.95mm +/- 0.01mm.

Rating:

Quality 8/10

Accuracy 9/10

Price 7/10

Consistency 8/10
